About me

I'm just a regular guy seeking spiritual fulfillment and truth in my spare time.

I spend most of my days at a full-time job that I generally love. My evenings are split between helping get two sweet children fed, bathed, and in bed and visiting with my wife. If I have any time leftover in the evenings, I read; usually popular theological or historical books and the Bible.

Far less often than I'd like to (though it takes a clear back-seat to my current spiritual interests), I read fiction. My favorite contemporary writer is Brady Udall (how could it be anyone else?). Among my other favorite works of fiction are: Underworld, The Brothers Karamazov, The Master and Margarita, Great Expectations, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. A list of novels neglects the two texts that have most impacted me: Walden and Leaves of Grass.

I was raised by two loving parents, both with impeccable Mormon pedigrees, along with really wonderful siblings. I'm the black sheep, best I can tell. Everyone else is not just active but a traditional, orthodox and orthoprax Mormon.

My family and live in the western United States, though not along the Mormon Corridor. I'm not inclined to be more specific than that.

And yeah, I'm fully aware that "Odysseus" is pretensious.
